The costs and benefits of moving to Beaumont.
Owning an apartment or villa at Beaumont is not inexpensive. The value of our residences is calculated according to an IRS formula for nonprofit communities. It establishes the base cost and adds an amount for capital improvements made by the seller plus an appreciation or depreciation factor that is reflective of the overall real estate market in surrounding communities. It’s important to recognize that should you decide to move or when you pass way, that same formula will apply to the resale of your Beaumont residence for the benefit of you or your heirs.
What’s covered under the monthly fee?
The monthly fee is virtually all-inclusive: access to all amenities, such as the pool and fitness center, a food allowance to spend as desired, weekly housekeeping and flat linen service, comprehensive medical program, real estate and school taxes, scheduled transportation, landscaping, snow removal, an on-site ATM, all utilities and more. Of course all our common areas and our magnificent grounds and woods are also there for your enjoyment.
Are there tax advantages to living at Beaumont?
According to current tax law, residents at Beaumont are allowed to deduct the portion of their monthly fee attributable to real estate taxes (as allowed by the IRS) on their Schedule A. Beaumont provides each resident with a tax statement documenting these expenses on an annual basis.
What if I have a Long-Term Care insurance policy?
Some or all costs of medical services at Beaumont can be paid for under the terms of most Long-Term Care policies. Of course, you will need to verify the terms of your policy to be certain which and what percentage of those expenses can be claimed.
Homes at Beaumont are generally larger and offer more value for the money. We chose our villa because it overlooks the pond and the spectacular Beaumont Woods. We were able to remodel our home completely to watch the seasons change right in front of us, bird song and all.
